Chloé is a writer and entrepreneur whose company, Theory of Enchantment, offers an alternative to conventional anti-racism training. Instead of focusing on dualistic thinking and division, Chloé’s company embraces and promotes love and compassion. We speak about the importance of accepting and embodying our own individual complexities and polarities as a means to accept others. We discuss the West’s (and our own individual) obsession with controlling and predicting, which inevitably leads to abuses of power. We also talk about meaningful relationship as an antidote to power grabbing, the importance of channeling anger as opposed to identifying with it, and how real change will require that we get back into our bodies and feel our feelings.
“ The moment you choose something as opposed to something, you have created the ditch where you will fall. You will be hypnotized by the opposite.”
Since the last 2 years, I've literally been obsessed with the non-duality concept.
So… it’s an understatement to say that I enjoyed this episode a lot.
We live in a chaotic world, surrounded by technology and endless distractions, despite this, people like Chloé DO exist. They have the outstanding capacity to trace the source of our global sufferings and calamitous misunderstandings. I was super impressed by her “dissection” of the western herd mentality and fucked up dichotomy that we apply to anything and everything. It’s been there with us for so long…
I’m still discovering a lot of stuff about Eastern philosophy but I cannot help thinking about a special kind of karma after listening to the episode. Somewhat naively, I used to believe that karma was a strictly personal phenomenon. However (and logically), there’s also a family karma, a clan karma, a country karma, etc.
I cannot even imagine how to grasp the discovery and then the healing of such a tremendous pile of memories and traumas.
I love Chloé’s first step to face the problem : consciously choosing Relationship instead of Power (there’s obviously a Venus/Mars and Libra/Aries axis to this).
Thank you for bringing another gem to our ears, Anya.
