"Astrology for Rationalists" - A Conversation With Tao Ruspoli

A few weeks ago, Chris and I stopped by our friend Tao Ruspoli’s magical compound in Yucca Valley, CA. Tao invited me on his podcast “Being in the World” to talk about astrology. At first, this sounded like an invitation to a duel since Tao has always been skeptical of astrology, but as you’ll see, we ended up having an amazing conversation without much dueling at all. Turns out, I might be just as skeptical.

We speak about why I’m so allergic to the concept of “belief” when it comes to astrology, and how approaching astrology through a reductionist or mechanistic lens misses the point completely. We also discuss archetypal psychology, mythology, and the validity and importance of cultivating meaning in our lives, even when there’s nothing to “prove”.
